Tinting Your Home or Business Windows

If you're looking to spruce up your home and add some extra functionality, consider tinting your windows. Window tinting is a process that involves applying a thin film of material to the windows in your home. Here are some of the benefits of tinting your home's windows:

  1. Energy efficiency: Window tinting can help to reduce your energy bills by blocking out harmful UV rays that can make your home hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. This means that you won't have to rely as heavily on your heating and cooling systems to maintain a comfortable temperature, which can save you money on your monthly energy bills.

  2. Protection from the sun: Tinted windows also offer protection from the sun's harmful rays, which can cause skin damage and fade your furniture and carpets. By blocking out these harmful rays, you can protect yourself and your belongings from sun damage and prolong the life of your furnishings.

  3. Increased privacy: Window tinting can also offer increased privacy, especially for homes that are located close to neighbors or busy streets. Tinted windows make it difficult for outsiders to see into your home, which can help you feel more comfortable and secure.

  4. Improved aesthetics: Tinted windows can also improve the overall aesthetic of your home by giving it a sleek and modern look. There are a variety of different tints to choose from, so you can find the one that best complements your home's design.

  5. Reduced glare: Tinted windows can also help to reduce glare, which can be especially helpful for homes with large windows or skylights. This can make it easier to watch TV or work on your computer without straining your eyes.

Overall, there are many benefits to tinting your home's windows, from increased energy efficiency to improved aesthetics. If you're interested in tinting your windows, be sure to hire a professional to ensure that the job is done correctly and safely. With the right tint, your home can become more comfortable, secure, and stylish in no time.

Wall Ideas: Paint vs Wallpaper vs Original Materials vs Vinyl Films

We all often feel the need for change, and transforming our spaces is the most obvious starting point. There are many different options and approaches and Di-Noc Architectural Films are the perfect solution. Let’s take an 8ft x 16 ft wall as an example and compare the most popular options using the following criteria.

Paint

People have been using paint to decorate their walls for over 30,000 years. It is not surprising that this method is still the most popular. Let’s take a closer look at this approach.

  • Time. On average, preparation and painting take 1 minute per sq. ft. In this case, an 8 by 16 ft wall equals 128 sq. ft. and will take 120-130 minutes.

  • Price. Price can significantly vary, but it is undoubtedly the cheapest approach.

  • Organization. Painting is messy and requires full-site isolation.

  • Imperfections. Since the paint layer is very thin, every imperfection of the wall will be visible. If the walls are not smooth, this greatly increases the preparation time.

  • Durability. Paint is the least wear-resistant solution and it will scratch and dirty easily.

  • Cleaning. This is dependent on the type of paint, but often the most innocuous spill or scuff can be permanent.

Conclusion: Like everything, paint has its advantages and disadvantages. It is a fairly cheap and fast solution. The disadvantages are the choice is limited only to colour, not textures, is not durable and quickly loses its appearance. This results in the indeed to repaint regularly.

Wallpaper

Did you know that bubble wrap was originally a type of wallpaper? Despite the fact that this idea was quickly discarded, the wallpaper itself has not lost relevance for 600 years.

  • Time. A slow and meticulous process

  • Organization. This is less messy than painting but requires an adhesive, which requires the isolation and organization of the area.

  • Imperfections. Wallpaper hides imperfections better than paint. Even deep scratches and marks will be hidden.

  • Durability. Wallpaper is easily scratched and torn and can begin to peel, particularly when subjected to humidity.

  • Cleaning. Careful wiping with a damp cloth often does not cause any damage, but deeper stains will be permanent.

Conclusion: Wallpaper can easily transform old and damaged walls at a small cost and with moderate durability. However, wallpaper is not suitable for every interior. It was very popular 20-30 years ago, but modern trends are increasingly moving away from this method. It is also not recommended to use them in such humid places as the kitchen and bathroom.

Original Materials

Wood, stone, marble, metal, you name it!

  • Time. The time depends greatly on the material and its complexity, but in most cases, it is quite an involved and painstaking process.

  • Price. This is the most expensive option. Resource prices are constantly rising, and a marble wall can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

  • Organization. Delivery and installation can take a long time.

  • Imperfections. This method will all imperfections.

  • Durability. What could be stronger than the original marble or metal? They are not susceptible to temperature changes and are wear-resistant. If the surface is cracked, the entire piece can be compromised.

  • Cleaning. Concrete and marble surfaces can be easily cleaned whereas natural wood finishes can be more difficult.

Conclusion: We get exactly what we pay for. Marble will be marble, and wood will be wood. The use of original materials adds luxury to any interior and the durability of natural materials is always a big advantage. The obvious disadvantage is the high price. It is also not always possible to restore the original appearance after some damage and sometimes you will have to replace an entire section.

Vinyl Films

This is a relatively new product that has changed a lot over the past 20 years. Today you have a vast variety of patterns: solid, wood, stone, marble, concrete, metal, fabric, leather, etc. It is easy to apply and feels and looks like natural materials.

  • Time. The installation time is very similar to the installation of wallpaper.

  • Price. The price depends on the pattern, but in most cases, it is $4-5 per square foot. The smoother the wall, the easier the installation will be.

  • Organization. The film has an adhesive layer, so there is no need to use glue. You do not need to isolate the space during installation as there are zero toxic emissions and a very clean process.

  • Imperfections. Depends on the pattern; the smoother the pattern, the more imperfections will be visible, but they can be hidden by more careful preparation. Textural patterns such as wood, stone, metal, and leather hide most flaws.

  • Durability. Most patterns are much stronger than wallpaper and are waterproof and fire-resistant.

  • Cleaning. All Cleaning Solutions can be used without fear of damaging the material.

Conclusion: This is becoming the preferred choice, as the film accurately replicates the texture of the original materials, but for a fraction of the cost. The durability of the film helps to maintain its appearance for more than 10 years and there are over 450 different patterns and textures to choose from!

Vehicle Wrap Cost Analysis

The average cost of any vehicle wrap is only a fraction of the cost for ongoing advertising space and more. Instead of using your vehicle as a single-purpose driving mechanism, use it as a mobile billboard to market your business. When you market your business well, you transform your offering into a branded experience that engages the public with vehicle wraps.

Using proper and quality materials, a professionally wrapped vehicle wrap can last longer than 5 years. The chart below illustrates the amortized cost of a vehicle wrap that lasts 5 years across various typical vehicle types.

3D Lettering

Signage matters in today’s world, where each business is competing to stay ahead of the other. Pin mounted letters are one of the signage options that let you stand out from the competition. Installing them gives your brand or logo a 3D (3 Dimensional) look, which is certainly eye catching to the public.

What is a Pin Mounted Signage?

Pin mounted letters or signs are a set of letters that can be cast, molded, cut out, or fabricated using materials like plastic, acrylic, wood, or metal. They are mounted onto a wall with vertical pins. Hence, the name pin mounted signage. These types of letter signs are also referred to as non-illuminated signage.

Used As Both Interior & Exterior Business Signs

When you’re outside, you will come across many non-lit signs on storefronts and business buildings. However, it doesn’t mean you cannot use external lights to make them visible at night.

In fact, many businesses prefer acrylic or metal pin mounted signs over other types of signage for their elegant look. They install floodlights on the floor to light up their business sign in the evening. The body material used to manufacture external letter signs is durable and long-lasting, so they can withstand the test of time.

Getting floodlights is a cheaper solution in comparison to getting illuminated signs. So, that’s another reason why a business can opt for non-lit signage. Being on a tight budget or trying to save money on the signage are two very possible scenarios.

Now, pin mounted letter signs aren’t only utilized outside. Businesses put up these signs inside their workplace or building as well. Being letters, you are not restricted to spelling out just your brand name. You can spell other phrases, too, using the interior pin mounted letters as you prefer.

Pin Mounting Is Not The Only Option

There are a number of ways to put up letter signs. The pin mounting style is not the only option. You can opt for stud or pad mounting as well. It all depends on your signage needs.

Stud Mounting: The most commonly used style to install signage letters because it’s a sturdy solution. It’s similar to pin mounted signs other than the fact that studs are used for holding the sign against the wall. Heavier letters can be displayed through the stud mounting technique. While holes are often drilled to thread the studs in both the letter and its place on the wall. Adhesives are used on each stud’s ends to further solidify the installation process.

Pad Mounting: This technique of sign mounting is used when you can’t or don’t want to drill holes into the wall. Usually, lightweight letters come with the option of pad mounting. As you can only use adhesives to glue the signage to the place of your choosing.

1.Affordable Solution

Being cheaper than older printing technologies, large format digital printing is used for all types of business advertising and marketing. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on attracting customers in a large market space, then digital large format printing will be a great and affordable option for you.

2.Durable Material

As previously mentioned in the article, the material used for printing is durable. For example, flex papers and vinyl sheets are produced to withstand the elements. The latex and resin-based inks used during the large format digital printing process are equally long-lasting. So, you can promote your business offers quickly and boost your sales.

3.Reusable When Needed

If your business offers a special discount each year on the same day, then printing a new banner or poster every time may not be feasible. This is where you can make use of the large format banners and prints. Get the banners printed once and reuse them every year until the time comes to change their details or design.

4.Customizable Shape and Size

As you have complete control over the whole printing process, you can get a vertical, horizontal, or any other shape of poster through large format printing services. Food Trucks have become a Canvas for Great Design

With so many food trucks in Winnipeg, it can be difficult to stand out and draw the attention of potential customers. Great food and great prices are crucial, these elements alone will not mean much if no one notices your food truck.

1. Your Branding

Your branding will significantly affect the final design of your food truck wrap.Shape and size of your logo to your company colours, every aspect of your branding should be considered for your design. This will ensure that your logo and company colours blend seamlessly into other design elements, creating a clean and appearance that leaves a positive impression on viewers.

2. Service Windows, Vents, and Other Obstructions

When we create your wrap design, it is crucial to avoid placing any important information or design elements over service windows, vents, doors, or other moving elements. Improper design can cause information to become cluttered, mixed up once your window or door is open, making it more difficult for viewers to understand text or identify contact information at a glance.

3. Your Customers

To create a positive and lasting impression on viewers, consider how they will feel when they look at your food truck wrap. The goal is to create a design that evokes feelings of curiosity, urgency, and, of course, hunger. It is also crucial to consider your target demographic when creating your design. For example, if you primarily target customers at a farmer’s market, you should create a design that emphasizes the freshness of your ingredients and how they are locally sourced.

Vehicle Graphic Tips

1. Plan your marketing strategy (target audience, budget, time frame)

Planning your marketing strategy will make it possible to know your audience and figure out which vehicle wraps types will best suit your brand. This will help your brand stand out by allowing you to create relevant ads and cover only the vehicles that target your consumers. For example, back window graphics are suited for cars, van wraps for vans, and trailer wraps for semi-trucks.

2. Choose the right vinyl

The vinyl material you choose will make a huge difference in how your graphics look. Vinyl comes in different thicknesses ranging from 60 to 150 microns. The higher the number, the better the vinyl’s durability. The durability of the vinyl is also measured by the abrasion resistance, which is the number of times the vinyl can be wiped off.

3. Keep your graphics clean

Vehicle wraps are made of vinyl and vinyl needs to be cleaned regularly. Vinyl needs constant cleaning, especially in areas where there is a lot of exposure to sunlight. Regular cleaning will keep any dirt, grime, or bubbles from forming. Vinyl wraps will also look fantastic for longer if properly cleaned and maintained.

4. Use a mascot

Using mascots and brand characters in your graphics is a great way to make your vehicle stand out. Research shows that people remember 80% of what they see and 20% of what they read. They remember 10% of what they hear. So, using mascots and brand characters in your graphics will reinforce your brand and make it easier for people to recall it.

5. Use eye-catching colors

Colors play a big role in making your brand stand out. Colors are one of the most emotive components of communication. Using the right colors in your vehicle wrap will make it more attractive. Bright colors will draw more attention. First impressions matter a lot!

What can be wrapped?

If you’re thinking of wrapping your vehicle to advertise and promote your business, the first thing you should consider is which car parts to wrap. Generally, most people opt for full wraps, which cover the entire vehicle, including the hood, sides, rear, bumper, and windows. However, this doesn’t mean you should do the same.

Depending on your budget and marketing goal, you can have certain parts of your vehicle wrapped to capture the attention of your target audience.

So, which car parts can you wrap?

When it comes to covering a portion of your vehicle with vinyl wraps, it’s always wise to choose central positions. They are more likely to attract your viewers and persuade them to take action. Some of the most effective parts of a car to wrap include:

1. The sides

The sides of your car are the most visible parts, and they offer a wide surface area for the placement of your vehicle graphics. Therefore, if you have a large design in mind or need your vehicle to stand out in public, wrapping the sides is your best choice.

However, it’s essential to note that doors can affect the visibility and readability of your vehicle graphics when designed and installed poorly. That’s why it’s advisable to hire a professional car wrap company, as they can maneuver the unique contours of your vehicle to ensure your wrap is visible.

2. The hood

Hood wraps are quite affordable and quick to carry out, making them a popular choice for businesses trying to stay on budget. They can transform the look of your vehicle and easily capture the attention of viewers, promoting your products and services.

3. The rear

Covering the rear part of your car with a vinyl wrap is a fantastic way to advertise your business when you’re stuck in traffic. It also exposes your company to other drivers behind you when you’re on a busy highway.

4. The roof

Most experts don’t recommend wrapping the roof of your vehicle as no one is likely to see, read, and understand the wrap.

Ultimately, the part you choose to wrap depends on your budget, marketing goal, and consumer.

Full Wrap or Partial Wrap?

So, you’ve decided that wrapping your vehicle or fleet is the next step in your business plan. Now you’re facing the task of deciding exactly what that will look like. One of the biggest decisions you need to manage next is whether to do a full or a partial car wrap. There are a few things to take into consideration as you decide what vehicle graphics will be best for your needs.

Vehicle type

The size and shape of the vehicle you are wrapping should be one of your main considerations when deciding what type of wrap to install. Vehicles with large expanses of space will be a good choice for partial truck wraps or van wraps. If you are covering a smaller vehicle, a full wrap will give you more bang for your buck and space to create an impact with your design.

Vehicle color

If the color of your vehicle is a good compliment for your logo and wrap design, a partial car wrap might be your best choice. However, if you are working on a full fleet wrap with multiple vehicle colors or the original paint job just doesn’t mesh well with your design, a full wrap will be the way to go. Aesthetic is so important to your business’ image and the impact created by your updated vehicle will go further when everything has a cohesive look.

Budget limitations

Of course, your business’ budget is extremely important in making the decision between full and partial car wraps. Partial wraps may cost a bit less, depending on the specific vehicle, design needs, and how much assistance you need with customization. Consulting with a professional design and installation firm will help you to determine what type of wrap will fit your needs and budget.

Having a fleet or vehicle with professional car, truck, or van wraps will help your business stand out, whether it’s parked in the lot or out on the streets of Los Angeles. Schedule a consultation today to see whether a full or partial wrap will create the image that you want to project and drive awareness of your business.

Rebranding with Vinyl Graphics

There are many reasons why a business may choose to rebrand. Maybe the target audience has changed, or it is hoping to increase its competitive edge. In any case, this requires more than a logo change. The best campaigns tell a story, build brand awareness. Companies often will turn to a sign shop when looking as to how to build a new , updated, better brand environment. Wall/Window/Floor Graphics are a great way to achieve the company’s story. Market research shows the brain will respond to visual information. A descriptive, original graphic is able to communicate the meaning and message of a brand to the consumer, while simultaneously enhancing its recognition and reinforcing customer loyalty. Companies that prioritize wall and window graphics as a valuable aspect of their rebranding strategies can quickly communicate what their business represents, as well as tell a story about its origins and future—all while building an experience that impacts the customer’s perception of the store and their purchasing decisions. It is important that Print Shops communicate with brand managers to ensure the design/messaging has strong appeal. Through their own expertise and experience, professional printers can help bring a client’s advertising vision to life. While business owners may have an idea of how they want their brand to be represented, those working outside the print industry do not always understand what is both logistically and practically possible in regards to planning graphics for walls and windows. Print Shops are able to suggest adhesive materials compatible with the intended substrate, resulting in graphics that are long-lasting and visually appealing. The selected materials, colours, and type say a lot about a brand, and designers can help a company develop complete corporate branding that unites graphics in a cohesive manner.

MAXIMIZE YOUR FLEET GRAPHICS BUDGET

If you’re not quite ready to fully wrap your entire fleet of vehicles , starting with Spot Graphics is a good intro to the medium.

1. Some graphics are better than no graphics! You don’t need to fully wrap every vehicle in your fleet to start building your reputation on the road. Some of your vehicles may get more visibility than others.

2. Utilize the most valuable real estate. While a full vehicle wrap is undoubtedly impressive and provides you the most ROI, some individual parts of your vehicle can make a noticeable impression. Put graphics on the back door, and/or the back third on the driver’s side. These are prime places for those with limited budgets!

4. Use “KISS” when designing on a budget.  A smaller, powerful graphic is worth more than a larger, confusing one. Keep It Simple Stupid

5. Consider cost per view—and see if it makes sense to re-allocate money from some of your other marketing efforts. A vehicle wrap is mobile and lasts for years, compared to Mailers,Billboard or Radio Ads, it truly is the ROI in your marketing kit.

6. Look at a staggered approach. We know it’s better to do fleet graphics right the first time, or it will cost you more in the long run. If you can’t afford to do everything now—develop a plan to wrap your fleet over a longer-term period.

7. Most of all? Have a candid conversation with experts!  We can help guide you towards the best ways to maximize money and visibility.

Limited budget? No problem. Let’s discuss the possibilities.

Why using a 3M Certified installer is a wise choice

Choosing a 3M certified vehicle wraps installer matters.

Lots of companies can create large-format vehicle wraps.

Lots of companies claim they can install or maintain these vehicle wraps.

When it comes to fleet graphics, there is so much to be said for doing it right the first time.

If you’ve ever had an experience with, say, home improvement—and you chose a contractor who was more of a “weekend warrior”—you already know why quality and expertise is worth it.

Because even though a less-qualified person may technically be able to get the job “finished,” it’s not necessarily to the right caliber or standards (which unfortunately you may not realize until later when things start falling apart). Either way, you end up paying more in the long-run when you don’t go with the best in the beginning.

You’re left questioning:

  • It might look nice, but will they do things right behind the scenes?

  • Do they bring know-how and insights from previous work?

  • Have they trained in this particular specialty?

  • Are there any professional means of qualifying them?

Vehicle wraps work the same way.

The quality of graphics matters.

The manufacturer’s expertise matters.

The installer’s ability matters.

And the ongoing maintenance matters.

It takes multi-faceted expert to ensure a job that is truly well-done for your fleet!

Vehicle Wrap Maintenance

Your wrap needs regular cleaning and maintenance to maintain its color , finish, and prevent damage.

Below are some maintenance tips you can use on your vehicle wrap:

1. Washing

If your wrapped ride is a daily driver, ensure you wash your car wrap once a week, depending on its exposure to dirt and pollutants. When washing your car, always hand wash it to prevent scarring and scratching your vehicle wrap.

The detergent you use should also be mild and non-abrasive, Dawn is a good gentle choice. Additionally, use an automotive sponge or soft micro fiber cloth and rinse your vehicle with water after lightly scrub it down.

Using a pressure wash to clean your car is safe so long as the proper distance(24”+) and sprayer angle (30 degrees+) are used. Alternatively, go to automated brushless car washes as they can be more gentle and safer on your car wrap. Never use the pressure of the washer to remove the dirt, loosen the dirt by a gentle scrub down, and rinse clean.

The use of a brush car wash can cause your car wrap to degrade, scratch, and lift, degrading the vinyl before its time.

3. Difficult Contaminants

Bird stains or bug splatter that are hard to remove . In this case, soak the affected area with hot and soapy water for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly. If the containment is still visible, using a Spot Cleaner mixed with 40% Water 30% IPA 30% Vinegar. Always do a test spot before using on a visible area to ensure to harm to the wrap. Never leave a contaminant sit on the wrap for days, cleaning as soon as its noticed can save you time on cleaning and the wrap from permanent etching damage.

4. Store indoors

Vinyl wraps are like paint, and after prolonged exposure to sunlight, they can fade and degrade. Store your vehicle in a garage or in a shaded area whenever possible to avoid this.
