How Long Does a Car Wrap Last ? A Vehicle wrap that is properly maintained can last from anywhere 5-10 years, depending on the vinyl and the owner. Most manufacturers have a 5 year removal limit, meaning that it is best to remove the vinyl wrap before it becomes dehydrated, brittle and difficult to remove.
How Much Does a Car Wrap Cost? Every vehicle, every project is different. Our formula is based on three criteria: 1) Vinyl Used 2) Sq/Ft required 3) Complexity of Project. How durable is Vinyl Wrap? Vinyl is typically between 2 mil - 5 mil thick. It can take moderate abuse, but is not indestructible. Lite swirl marks will fade out in the heat of the sun. Stone, and Rock chips can cause small holes in the wrap, if its strong enough to damage paint it will damage vinyl.
Are Vehicle Wraps Removable? Vehicle wraps are designed to be removable. ... With a little heat, vehicle wrap vinyl should cleanly lift away from the car, truck, boat, etc. Best to remove within the recommended time frame, provided by the manufacturer.
Is it cheaper to Wrap or Paint? An inexpensive basic paint job is usually cheaper than a car wrap. A higher-quality paint job with multiple coats will cost much more than a car wrap. If you want a matte finish or a color-shifting paint, painting your car would cost significantly more than wrapping it to achieve the same look. A wrap is an alternative to painting…not a cheap one.
Will the Vinyl Wrap damage my paint? A Vehicle Wrap Will Not Damage Factory or High Quality Paint. In fact, not only will a wrap not damage the painted surface of your vehicle, if the paint is factory paint the wrap will protect that surface and preserve the quality of the paint underneath.
How often should I wash my vehicle wrap?
Wash your wrap once a week or more often if your vehicle is exposed to a lot of dirt or pollutants. You should hand wash it using products that are approved and safe for vehicle wraps, we use Dawn Dish Soap, you can use another gentle automotive detergent if necessary – any good brand will work. Always use a nice automotive sponge or clean, soft cloth to wash your wrap. Rinse vehicle with clear water after washing. Minimize water spotting by using a silicone squeegee or chamois to remove water. Dry with a clean microfiber cloth.
Can I take my wrapped vehicle into a drive-through car wash?
You can bring your wrapped vehicle to an automated brushless car wash, though hand washing is safer and more thorough. Brush car washes may be too rough on the film, degrading it and causing peeling and lifted edges. If a car wash uses water spray and no brushes, it should be safe for most wraps.
Can I Pressure Wash my Vehicle Wrap?
If you want to pressure wash your vehicle wrap, keep it below 2,000 psi. Use a spray nozzle with a 40 degree wide angle spray pattern and keep water temperature below 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep the spray nozzle at least 12 inches away from the car edges.
