3D Lettering

Signage matters in today’s world, where each business is competing to stay ahead of the other. Pin mounted letters are one of the signage options that let you stand out from the competition. Installing them gives your brand or logo a 3D (3 Dimensional) look, which is certainly eye catching to the public.

What is a Pin Mounted Signage?

Pin mounted letters or signs are a set of letters that can be cast, molded, cut out, or fabricated using materials like plastic, acrylic, wood, or metal. They are mounted onto a wall with vertical pins. Hence, the name pin mounted signage. These types of letter signs are also referred to as non-illuminated signage.

Used As Both Interior & Exterior Business Signs

When you’re outside, you will come across many non-lit signs on storefronts and business buildings. However, it doesn’t mean you cannot use external lights to make them visible at night.

In fact, many businesses prefer acrylic or metal pin mounted signs over other types of signage for their elegant look. They install floodlights on the floor to light up their business sign in the evening. The body material used to manufacture external letter signs is durable and long-lasting, so they can withstand the test of time.

Getting floodlights is a cheaper solution in comparison to getting illuminated signs. So, that’s another reason why a business can opt for non-lit signage. Being on a tight budget or trying to save money on the signage are two very possible scenarios.

Now, pin mounted letter signs aren’t only utilized outside. Businesses put up these signs inside their workplace or building as well. Being letters, you are not restricted to spelling out just your brand name. You can spell other phrases, too, using the interior pin mounted letters as you prefer.

Pin Mounting Is Not The Only Option

There are a number of ways to put up letter signs. The pin mounting style is not the only option. You can opt for stud or pad mounting as well. It all depends on your signage needs.

Stud Mounting: The most commonly used style to install signage letters because it’s a sturdy solution. It’s similar to pin mounted signs other than the fact that studs are used for holding the sign against the wall. Heavier letters can be displayed through the stud mounting technique. While holes are often drilled to thread the studs in both the letter and its place on the wall. Adhesives are used on each stud’s ends to further solidify the installation process.

Pad Mounting: This technique of sign mounting is used when you can’t or don’t want to drill holes into the wall. Usually, lightweight letters come with the option of pad mounting. As you can only use adhesives to glue the signage to the place of your choosing.
